History
The practice started with John Newcombe single handedly running the practice from
Stonnall. In 1980, the practice moved to its present site at Warren House Farm.
Jenny East joined the practice as John’s first assistant in 1987 and went into partnership
in 1992. The surgery has always had both a small animal component, together with
both a generalized equine ambulatory service and a specialization in equine reproduction.
John was advising studs on reproductive procedures before ultrasound machines were
even dreamt of in the equine field. Jenny joined him and soon was developing her
own stud rounds. The practice has always been on the pioneering edge of all reproductive
techniques, such as Artificial Insemination (A.I), frozen AI, Embryo Transfer (E.T.),
reduction of twins, with significant successes, whilst making these procedures affordable
to the ordinary person.
The practice has now expanded to employ 2 full time equine and small animal assistants,
Gary Kelly and Nathalie Jehee, together with a part time specialized small animal
clinician, Peter Timmis. For the stud season we will also be lucky enough to have
a Resident from the Royal Veterinary College, to complement the team.
Newcombe and East is a rapidly expanding Equine and Small Animal Clinic, situated conveniently just off the A5, near Brownhills, West Midlands.
We pride ourselves on our friendly personal service, with our OWN 24 hour, 7 day a week emergency cover, at the Brownhills Practice.
